Himalayan Nature & Adventure Foundation (HNAF)

HNAF is a leading registered voluntary non-Government organization based in Siliguri, West Bengal, affiliated to Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi. Over last 26 years HNAF has proved itself to be one of the leading organization of this region, working towards promotion of adventure-sports, environmental-awareness, bio-diversity conservation and conducting survey and studies on Avifauna, Ichthyofauna and other wild life. HNAF plays a leading role in spearheading environmental movements to spreads nature education amongst the children and youth. In the field of camping (for youth, general children & children with special needs), Trekking, Mountaineering, Adventure Courses, Social Work, Relief & Rescue operation, Nature & Environmental Education, Bird Watching/Survey/Awareness, Wildlife Conservation/Advocacy/Movement/Census, Water and Biodiversity Conservation etc, in last 26 years HNAF has proved itself to be one of the most active & leading organizations of this region. Since its inception in 1990 HNAF is dedicated to the cause of society in distress and natural calamities. It has been acting as society’s conscience by raising its voice relentlessly against various types of indiscreet and wanton acts affecting quality of human and wild life. We have got the voluntary support from our over 150 odd members and uncounted well wishers from different part of the country and different spheres of life. HNAF has also been working together with several State & Central govt. organizations in various projects and works.


CAMPING: In last 26 years HNAF has organized several camps for boys & girls students of school, colleges, university and challenged youth & adult. HNAF have organized 31 nos. of Nature Study Cum Adventure Camp for boys & girls, aged between 5 to 15 yrs. Every year. From December 25th to 30th. Campers mainly from Siliguri & adjoining areas and from different parts of West Bengal participate Annual All India Nature Study Cum Adventure Camp for children & youth with special needs (age 5 to 25 yrs). From December 18th to 23rd (5nights 6days) participants from different institutes all over the country take part in this camp. HNAF is the only organization in the country to organize this type of specialized camp for the last 25 years. Annual Nature Study Camp for Visually Challenged Children. For last 12 years HNAF is organizing this camp. Tribal and other socio economically backward visually challenged boys and girls even from the remote villages in Dooars and Terai regions take part in the camp. Organized in collaboration with A.Y.J.N.I.H.H (Govt. of India) organized Trekking & Camping Course specially for the Hearing Impaired youth from different parts of the country for five years.
